FCC Youth December Happenings!
I know it is VERY hard to believe but the year is coming to a close! We have
a lot of service opportunities and special events coming up so please read
the following post very carefully so you and your student don’t miss out!
NEW – taking part in FCC Youth Volunteer Opportunities can help your
student earn fund raising credits!
In order to provide more students with an opportunity to earn fundraising
credits due to their busy schedules and outside commitments The Youth Steering
Committee has decided to allow students to earn 1 Fundraising credit for each FCC Youth
Volunteer Opportunity that they participate in. This way we are still encouraging students
to help out at Fundraising events and making sure that our volunteer opportunities are
more about serving others then earning money towards events.
Upcoming FCC Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Children’s Holiday Shop – December 3rd
The Children's Holiday Shop is sponsored by the Lawrence Youth Network (a group of
Lawrence Youth Pastors). We will need help starting at 7:00AM until 5:00PM, helpers can
assist the children as they shop, greet the families as they arrive and other general
duties. Volunteer shifts are increments of 2 hours (7-9am; 9-11am; 11-1pm; 1-3pm & 3-
5pm). Please let me know if you and your students would be interested in serving our
community on December 3rd, it will be lots of fun and a wonderful way to show the
Community how much God loves them in a very tangible way!

Serving LINK New Year’s eve
FCC Youth will be serving LINK on December 31st from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. We will need
at least 12 to 15 people to lend a hand, serving food, doing dishes etc.!
Christmas Party
Our Jr. & Sr. Youth will be having their Christmas Party on Wednesday, December 14th; We
still need a few adult sponsors who are willing to volunteer for our party as well as some
parents who would be willing to bring some snacks & desserts. Please let me know if you
would be willing to help out in one of these ways!
We will be having a white elephant gift exchange so please have your student bring a
wrapped gift under $5, it could even be something from the house that they are no longer
using!
Winter Ski Retreat
- This year’s Ski Retreat Theme is: Re-New, we will be talking about fresh starts,
New Year’s resolutions and discussing biblical characters who God gave a New or Fresh Start
to.
- Cost - $70.00 – This includes, transportation, food, lodging, Ski rental, lesson and
a lift ticket
- Times We will leave from the church parking lot at 8:30am on Wednesday,
December 28th, the retreat will end around 9:00pm on Thursday, December 29th, students
will be picked up at the Church.
- The first day we will spend at the Retreat center, hanging out, playing mixers,
talking about what it means to be New in Christ and then the second day we will hit the Ski
slopes hard all day and close out the evening with worship and our last lesson on Fresh
Starts.
